Madita Kloss' künstlerische Entwicklung zu ihren unverwechselbar farbintensiven und expressiven Gemälden fand ihren Ursprung in einem tief persönlichen Moment – ihrer ersten Schwangerschaft. Dieser bedeutende Einschnitt verschob ihren kreativen Fokus von der Illustration hin zu dem leuchtenden Stil, der heute ihr künstlerisches Erkennungsmerkmal ist. In ihren Arbeiten verschmelzen auf faszinierende Weise Einflüsse aus der mittelalterlichen Sakralkunst, dem Expressionismus – mit Anklängen an Gauguin und Chagall – sowie der Popkultur. Kloss gelingt es meisterhaft, traditionellen Themen eine subversive feministische Perspektive zu verleihen, die ihre Werke mit einer zeitgemäßen Relevanz durchdringt. Durch den virtuosen Einsatz lebendiger Farben und einer energiegeladenen Bildsprache feiern Madita Kloss' Gemälde nicht nur das Leben und die Weiblichkeit, sondern auch die transformative Kraft, die in der Neuinterpretation klassischer Motive liegt.
Madita Kloss' turn to painting has its roots in a deeply personal phase of her biography — the pregnancy with her first son Koloman. This intense experience unleashed the colors within her. "As a woman, you rebuild yourself through the experience of motherhood" – But motherhood also carries risks. Being a mother forces a woman into a kind of narrow-mindedness. Madita Kloss needed self-expression desperately. As a mother of two — she has no hesitation speaking and working openly and confidently about motherhood and femininity. This complete authenticity permeates her colorful works, which are always marked by a powerful physicality. Her feminist attitude does not exhaust itself in condemning the masculine or portraying women merely as victims — complexity, ambivalence, and a loud, immediate form of expression are some of her goals. A raw handling of luminous color meets iconographic symbolism, pop-cultural references, and echoes of (classical) literature. Even reading aloud to her children becomes a source of inspiration — really everything from the everyday life.
